About Us

Sindh Green Development Organization (SGDO) is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-profit and non-governmental organization was established in 1994 and registered in 1999 under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance of 1961 (Reg. No. DSW (HYD)/VA-660 of 1999).

 

SGDO strives for environment, education, social welfare, health and sustainable development through promotion of mass education and mass motivation leading to capacity building and community development. SGDO believes to work by involving local communities, including common people, teachers, students, intellectuals, educationists, doctors, engineers, labours and social workers; both males and females. Female activists are the important strength of the organization, which pays special attention to the capacity building and motivation of females for their role in the development of the society. Dissemination of knowledge and motivation of masses about the environment, education, health and sustainable development through community visits, lectures, walks, print, social media and other possible means of communication. The organization encourages and cooperates with local NGO’s and CBOs for undertaking grass-root level practical work. Advocacy, using all the possible means of communication for networking and sharing knowledge & skills are believed to be better ways for sustainable development with maximum community involvement.

 

SGDO works on the guidelines provided by the UN and other international organizations. We have maintained contact and coordination with national as well as international organizations working on environment, education, health and development, along with other areas of social service positively and we are working in consultation and cooperation with them wherever possible.

 

SGDO initiated an action for the protection, conservation, rehabilitation and improvement of the environment, for the prevention and control of pollution, and promotion of sustainable developments through which create economic opportunities.
